Every Wednesday, the ugly hug shares a playlist personally curated by an artist/band that we have been enjoying. This week we have a collection of songs put together by the Los Angeles-based band, Finnish Postcard.

Back in September, Finnish Postcard, the duo of Trey Shilts and Leo Dolan, released Sacred Monday Morning Mixtape, the latest addition to their enduring collaborative relationship. Postured as the follow up to 2025’s charmingly vibrant LP, Body, Finnish Postcard ran aground when envisioning where to go next. What’s undeniable upon Sacred Monday’s introduction is the comradery that swells and spreads from the chest as the duo return to the basics – “Grab whatever’s in the fridge. It’s good to see you.” As thoughtful soundscapes lead with a gesture of generosity, where underlining moments of melodic devotion bring out the best sense of self, Shilts and Dolan create something worth holding on tight to.

About the playlist, Finnish Postcard shared;

“A non-exhaustive document of influences, references and inspirations for making Sacred Monday Morning Mixtape.”
